About us
To Our Friends and Neighbors, I’m excited to share some big news! After 20 years of operating as a franchisee with Brick Oven on 35th, Magda and I are proud to announce the restaurant is evolving. Introducing our own Cucina on 35th Street Wood-fired Italian Kitchen! We are so deeply grateful for the patronage of our customers and community over these past two decades, and are thrilled to take this big step to independent proprietorship with Cucina on 35th.
WHAT’S CHANGED?
Well, namely, the name.
When we became part of the Brick Oven story back in, 2000 in our quaint red cottage home on 35th street, we gained a long-lasting fan-base for our award-winning pizza, great wine and classic Italian food. As Austin has grown, and especially during the challenges of this year while we have sadly said goodbye to so many long-time Austin restaurants, we are deeply grateful to still be steadily serving our local neighborhoods and delivering far and wide to loyal--and hungry--customers!
We’re serving some new delicious menu items. Since we will be independent from a corporate menu, we now have the opportunity to offer new, uniquely delicious classics we can’t wait to share!
Don’t worry, we will still have a distinctive wood-fired pizza that you will love.
But, look for new and exciting pasta dishes as well as classic comfort Italian classics. Also, we will continue to carry many Gluten-free, Vegetarian, as well as Vegan options for our discerning customers. As usual, we will continue our affordable wine selections and offer great wines for a great price for our oenophile friends to sip at home or with us while you wait for that take-out or dining in.
We’re Curbside, Carry-out & Limited Dine In
During these crazy times, we are offering curbside, carry-out and limited dine-in, along with delivery through popular third-party apps. We remain committed to the safety of our customers and our awesome employees, but are eager to get back into the groove of serving friends and families, and drop-off catering for offices and large parties.
WHAT HASN’T CHANGED?
Our love for this town. Our commitment to helping our brave nurses, with our “buy a nurse a pizza” promotion and the Austin Service Industry by providing free meals for our unemployed and struggling peers. Our continued support as one of Austin’s original restaurants who proudly support our community:
PAWS Shelter of Central Texas
St. Austin Catholic School
Austin High School (Cheerleaders, Theater, Football, Volleyball, and Basketball)
Brykerwoods Elementary PTA
Covenant Presbyterrian School
Matthews Elementary
Lee Elementary
Ace Academy
Blue Lapis Light
The Refuge Austin
Austin Angels
For the Children
Cub Scouts of America Cub Scouts Pack 34
Truth be Told
Make a Wish Foundation
Emancipet
...just to name a few.
Most importantly, what hasn’t changed are the faces of our amazing, hard-working staff! Such a big part of this decision was frankly based on adjusting our operation to help keep all our restaurant family working. You have made that a possibility. So thank you! And of course, there’s me, and my family! We are so grateful for all of y’all.
We are grateful for all the years as the Brick Oven on 35th, and are looking forward to many more in this exciting new chapter as Cucina on 35th.
Y’all stay hungry! And please stay in touch.
Con Amore,
Jay, Magda and the Entire Crew at Cucina at 35th Street
